Scott Huff
Enrolled Agent/Consultant

This is me. I am not a stuffy professional in a suit and tie.  I like to meet my clients out, whatever creates the most comfortable atmosphere.  I am passionate about what I do and always willing to help in anyway that I can.  To learn a little more about my background, read my story below.

My story

Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in the city, I learned from my "blue-collared" parents hard work, being passionate about what you love and most importantly, being a good person.  My dad always told me to be humble and if you do good things it will come back to you.

At an early age I developed a passion for tennis.  Each day, with no coaching, I played tennis against a wall by myself for hours.  As my talent progressed, I navigated through the junior tennis circuit eventually earning an athletic scholarship to the University of Akron for Men's Tennis.  My hard work on the team paid off and my teammates elected me Captain in my senior year.

I kept that passion alive, competing and coaching after college.  As the Head Tennis Coach at Orange High School, I was given the honor of Plain Dealer Coach of the Year in 2003.

Throughout my adult life, I have had many positions which have guided me to where I am today.  In 1996, I was accepted in the Cleveland Police Academy where I served as an officer for the City of Cleveland for 20 years.  During my career, I passed my Series 7 license exam and worked part-time as an registered representative.

Toward the end of my career, I served on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund.  In 2014 I was Chairman.  The fund oversaw the defined benefit retirement plan for municipal law enforcement officers in the State of Ohio.  The fund had investments of approximately $15 Billion.  The board signed off on all investment decisions for the fund.

During that time, I acted as an Independent Fiduciary for the United States Department of Labor, assisting them with overseeing orders of the court for pension plans that had judgements against them.  After a small stint working with 401k plans, I moved my practice to individuals.

During my tenure on the board, I completed Advanced Portfolio Management Classes at the Executive Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.  This program was the catalyst to understand how the Ultra-high Net Worth managed their assets.

I have owned several outside business during my lifetime including a freight business, rental properties and technology company.

In 2014, with the loss of my father, I began writing and formulating Yourefolio..  Today, Yourefolio is one of the most predominantly used Estate and Legacy Planning softwares by estate planners in the U.S. It is currently the most comprehensive professional platform on the market.

After acting as Chief Executive Officer for Yourefolio, I understood the value of understanding your business numbers.  In 2023, I passed the Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent Exams and am currently an IRS Enrolled Agent.  This certification allows me to represent individuals in front of the Internal Revenue Service.

Currently, beside the Enrolled Agent designation, I am the President and Owner of River Wealth Management in Westlake, Ohio.  Married to wonderful Jessica with two superstar children, Allie and Adam (and one Wheaton Terrier, Winston) in Rocky River, Ohio.

Now that you know a little about me, I am looking forward to learning a little more about you.
